State Farm Florida Not Open for New St. Lucie County Homeowners Insurance Business!
State Farm Florida Insurance Company is not writing any new Florida homeowner insurance policies in St. Lucie County.
Randy Diamond of the Palm Beach Post reported on February 24, 2008 in an article entitled “State Farm won’t write new policies about State Farm Florida’s decision to stop writing new Florida homeowner insurance business. The article indicates that State Farm Florida made this decision because regulators refused to allow insurers to bring property rates up to necessary levels.
State Farm Florida is also in the process of canceling 50,000 Florida home insurance policies across the state. These cancellations by State Farm Florida are only part of over 150,000 Florida home insurance policies that will be cancelled statewide during the year.
